Privacy Policy for Changjie Keyboard

Last updated: April 2026

Changjie Keyboard ("the App") is an input method editor (IME) for Android developed by Wanleung's Workshop (wanleung.com). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information.

1. Data We Do NOT Collect

The App does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, including:

All text processing happens entirely on your device and is never sent to any server or third party.

2. Local Data

The App stores only your input-method preferences (e.g. Changjie version, Quick mode) using Android SharedPreferences. These preferences remain on your device and are never transmitted externally.

On first launch the App copies its built-in character dictionary (changjie.db) to your device's internal storage for performance. This file contains only Cangjie code data and no personal information.

3. Permissions

The App requests only the BIND_INPUT_METHOD permission required by Android to function as an input method. No other permissions (network access, contacts, location, etc.) are requested.

4. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics services, or third-party libraries that collect data.

5. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.

6. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be distributed with a new release of the App on Google Play.
